Work for Us

As the lead agency for regulating our state’s consumer finance and mortgage industries, we are committed to serving the citizens of South Carolina while promoting the growth, innovation and fiscal stability of the financial institutions operating in our local communities.

Our team enjoys using their financial expertise to ensure these companies are adhering to state laws while also working to keep the public safe from exploitation by institutions with improper or unlawful practices.

Overseeing the operation of this statewide financial system offers a dynamic, challenging career with flexibility and benefits the private sector may not provide.

Opportunities for Veterans

The Board of Financial Institutions offers career options for those who have proudly served our country. Your military experience and willingness to serve can lead to a rewarding career in public service.

Veterans who are disabled or who served on active duty in the Armed Forces during certain specified time periods or in military campaigns are entitled to preference over others in hiring from competitive lists of eligible candidates.

Eligibility for the Preference:

Every qualifying veteran is entitled to a preference. “Veteran” means a person who served in any branch of the United States Armed Forces on active duty, for reasons other than training, and was discharged under honorable conditions. In addition, to be qualified for the preference, the veteran applicant must meet the minimum training and experience requirements for the position, as detailed in the job posting.

Thank you for your service!  To learn more about resources for veterans, visit  SC Division of Veterans Affairs.
